An enormous sea turtle grazes on algae in the Galápagos.
Galápagos green turtles are a subspecies of green sea turtle, and have a shell that’s darker and more domed.
They’re the only subpopulation of sea turtles to nest in the islands. But as they’re migratory, they also spend much of their time cruising the warm waters of the Pacific.
I felt excited and humbled to get so close to this marvel of nature
I was so bewitched watching it snack that I almost missed by ride back to our tour boat!
