I’ve been lucky to visit Jigokudani in the summer and winter, and have seen the famous macaques both with and without snow.
Although it’s fun to see the monkeys in the summer as they’re more active, there’s something magical about watching them relax in hot pools when the surrounding mountains are blanketed in white.
