Hidden in a strip of jungle at the northern tip of Singapore – a short distance from the causeway connecting Singapore and Malaysia – urban explorers can find a mysterious tunnel that’s been abandoned for over 70 years.
Although the original function of the Marsiling Tunnel is a mystery, it’s believed that it either connected a local hospital to a wing for the mentally ill, or that it’s one of many British military facilities that were constructed during World War II.
Finding the tunnel isn’t easy, and you’ll need to hack through dense undergrowth to discover the hidden entrance.
But if you’re patient and use Google Maps as a guide, it shouldn’t take long to find this passage to darkness.
Exploring the tunnel is unnerving because, in the pitch blackness, you’ll hear shuffling all around.
If you shine your flashlight at the ceiling, you’ll discover that you’re surrounded by thousands of lizards.
It’s not a trip for herpetophobics or anyone who’s afraid of the dark!
