The Himalaya mountains viewed from my airplane window as I flew from Bumthang to Paro in Bhutan.
The mountains of Bhutan are the kingdom’s most celebrated natural attractions.
Located on the southern end of the Eastern Himalaya, Bhutan has one of the most rugged mountain terrains in the world, with elevations ranging from 160 to over 7,000 metres.
It was thrilling to fly from Bumthang to Paro as the airplane was tiny, and Bumthang airport was one of the smallest I’ve ever visited.
But I’m still fuming as my seat was on the wrong side of the plane to see the mountains in all their glory, and I only got a handful of decent photos!
