After visiting the beautiful Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten in the Punakha district, we hiked through the countryside to meet our guide and continue to the city of Thimphu.
We passed through many isolated villages and farmsteads, and were greeted by friendly waves everywhere we went.
But we had to scramble up a slope when these women appeared, as the path was too narrow for everyone to pass.
