The sun rises over Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
Angkor Wat is a sprawling temple complex and one of the largest religious monuments in the world.
It was constructed by the Khmer empire as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu, but gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century.
Visiting Angkor Wat was the highlight of my trip to Cambodia.
In an intense three-day tour I was able to see all the key temples in the main complex, and a handful of amazing shrines further afield.
