A giant bat goes hunting as the sun sets across Komodo National Park, Indonesia.
Every evening at dusk, thousands of flying foxes – a large species of bat – fly from the mangroves of Kalong Island (also known as Fruit Bat Island), as they begin their hunt for nocturnal insects.
From the deck of a boat anchored nearby, you can watch swarms of flying foxes flapping silently overhead as the sky turns red.
It’s a beautiful, unnerving and unforgettable sight.
