The Island of the Dolls (Isla de las Muñecas) is Mexico City’s most macabre attraction. Found in the ancient canals of Xochimilco, on the southeast fringes of the city, the island is haunted by thousands of lost dolls that have been salvaged from the water to appease the spirit of a dead girl.
