Czech Republic, Prague, Futura gallery

To view this artwork by Czech sculptor David Černý, you climb a ladder resting against the buttocks of a plastic giant.

When you’re at the top of the ladder, you pop your head into the giant’s gaping anus to watch a video of two Czech politicians spoon feeding each other as Queen sing ‘We Are the Champions’.

It’s an absurd and fascinating piece of work!

‘Brown-nosers’ is a permanent display at Prague’s Futura gallery.

The giants are in a garden at the back of the gallery, and you need to swing open a huge, unmarked door to reach them.

I didn’t spot the door the first time I walked through the gallery, and almost missed Černý’s obscene masterpiece.

In the third picture, that’s me with my head up a giant jacksie.

Check out my posts to see more of Černý’s work – including two men pissing on the Czech Republic.
