Thailand, Chonburi

The Wang Saen Suk ‘hell garden’ in Chonburi, Thailand, is a terrifying vision of the Buddhist underworld.

The park – around 100km south of Bangkok – features dozens of gruesome statues and dioramas that depict the punishments some Buddhists believe are visited on sinners in the afterlife.

All the statues are gory, grisly and gratuitous, and these delightful characters are said to be what drug addicts look like when they arrive in hell.
